A few days ago, according to local media reports in Xiamen, due to the violent fluctuations in paper prices in recent years, many tea packaging enterprises in Xiamen are transforming into wooden box packaging, tin packaging, metal can packaging, bamboo packaging, and composite film packaging.

The report said that the price of paper rose earlier this year than in previous years. Mr. Zhang, who has been packing for a few years in the tea industry, said, “In previous years, the price was generally raised around October, and it fell back in March of the following year. I didn’t expect to receive a price increase notice when I started work this year.” He also said that the festival had just passed. He received a letter of price increase.

Another packaging company in Xiamen said that at the end of 2018, the industry did not really raise the price. Therefore, this year, when it started construction in the spring, it received a letter of increase from upstream suppliers.

The price of paper rose, the first to bear the burden of packaging companies. In Xiamen, about 60% of tea packaging companies in the country are concentrated here. Due to the fluctuation of paper prices in the past two years, many tea packaging companies are preparing to give up paper packaging.

Huang Tiancai, head of a tea packaging company, said that due to the unstable price of paper products, they have significantly reduced paper purchases and turned to some suppliers to explore composite film packaging. New products are expected to be introduced to the market in the second half of this year.

Companies like this are not in the minority. At present, many tea packaging enterprises in Xiamen are transforming into wooden box packaging, tin packaging, metal can packaging, bamboo packaging, and composite film packaging.
