The system uses total pressure control in a common ink delivery module and local fine pressure control in each printing module containing the corresponding print head. Due to the high demand for ink flow from multiple inkjet print heads, the diaphragm pump used to control the ink pressure in the ink delivery module must be a large, high quality pump. Accordingly, the ink delivery module is necessarily an expensive part of the entire ink delivery system, mainly because of the high cost of the diaphragm pump.
