The line-up for the 2 November pre-lunch session includes UKRI challenge director Paul Davidson talking about the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging Challenge which will establish the UK as a leader in smart sustainable packaging and support a reduction in waste entering the environment.

Robert Thompson, packaging technologist at Co-op will discuss the journey to make a major retailer`s packaging recyclable and Simon Hombersley, CEO of Xampla – creator of the world`s first plant protein material for commercial use, will share insights into natural alternatives to single-use plastic.

The trio will be joined by A Plastic Planet`s Sian Sutherland and Tracy Sutton, founder & lead consultant at Root for a panel discussion that will focus on the pros and cons of plastic and new alternative materials.

The line-up for the two-day event, taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena (formerly Ricoh), 2-3 November, also includes speakers from DS Smith, OPRL, Suez.circpack, Clarity Environmental, Benchmark Global, renowned journalist Lucy Siegle and more, with the remaining speakers and panellists set to be announced soon.
